What is waterproof ethernet RJ45 connector ?

Waterproof RJ45 connector also called outdoor Ethernet cable connector , make of threaded PA66 shell and O shape rubber ring , to make the RJ45 plug and female socket connnection waterproof , also can be used for RJ45 cables waterproof extension .

When will we need the ethernet connection waterproof ?

1. While ethernet cable outdoor had been damaged , and need reconnection .

How to make ethernet cable connection waterproof ?

Different waterproof ethernet cable connections will need different waterproof RJ45 connectors

1. Ethernet RJ45 cable extension , or damaged ethernet cable joint for industrial and outdoor environment – With waterproof ethernet RJ45 extender

This is a waterproof RJ45 cable extender for ethernet cable outdoor extension . Normally the damaged ethernet cable should be sheared , as the cable should have RJ45 connector bofore installed into waterproof RJ45 connector , so first sheared the ethernet cable , install the RJ45 connector with RJ45 crimping tool , then install the waterproof RJ45 connector .

Notice for install the RJ45 connector :

a. 8 wires of the ethernet cable have different colors , they must are in the right order , or the network won’t connect

b. Make all of the wires are cut at same length , and all go into the end of the RJ45 connector before crimping

c. Crimp the ethernet cable into RJ45 connector with the RJ45 crimping tool , test both ends of the cable if they are wired correctly and get through .

2. Panel mount waterproof ethernet RJ45 Connector – Wire to panel

Automation equipments and products used outdoor but need ethernet connector , would need wire to panel waterproof RJ45 connector .Such as LED display , have a panel mount IP67 ethernet connector , the ethernet cable could connect to the LED display with good waterproof protection .

The panel mount ethernet waterproof connector will have dust cover to make receptacle waterproof while cables not plug in .

The panel mount waterproof RJ45 connector have plastic material and metal material for different requirements.

To match the panel mount RJ45 socket , the input ethernet cable should come with same threadness to make the connection waterproof , the input ethernet cable could be overmolded or assembly type .

With the assembly type , customer can use the exist ethernet cales , and install the cales to the shells , then plug to the panel mount RJ45 receptacle .

With the overmolded type , the waterproof RJ45 connector will come with cables , the cable length and material , parematers should be confirmed with supplier before order .
